Aluminium Gutter
Aluminium gutters are available to purchase from three main categories, Alutec, Alumasc and Rainguard Guttering. All aluminium products are available in a range of RAL colours polyester powder coated to order or in Mill finish (Non-Painted). Textured black finish is available as standard and other textured colours upon request.
There are many factors to consider when choosing a rainwater system. Deciding which material is best for you usually depends on cost, maintenance needs and installation. With all this in mind, there are other important factors that need to be considered.
There are many various alternatives available when looking for the appropriate material for your new gutter system. Vinyl, steel, and aluminum are among of the most popular materials, while some homes also have copper and wood gutters. Seamless gutters made of aluminum are perfect for enhancing your home.
In order to better understand the benefits of aluminum gutter, we will detail some of their qualities, such as:
How long do Aluminium Gutters last?
The extremely neutral appearance of aluminum gutters makes them the ideal rainwater system for a wide range of properties, from traditional rural homes to contemporary new construction. Aluminum gutters would not look out of place no matter what historical details or age your home has.
Aluminum is often used in applications that require high corrosion resistance and durability (such as car bodies, aircraft, ship hulls, oil platforms, etc.). When specifying an aluminum gutter system, it is critical to specify the correct grade of aluminum to extend the life of the system. This is because the use of lower grades of aluminium can significantly shorten the life of the product. As aluminum won't rust it's an ideal selection for the future. It's extraordinarily sturdy and has an expected life cycle of over thirty years, depending on maintenance. This makes aluminium gutters extraordinarily efficient too.
What are the maintenance requirements for Aluminium Gutters?
Maintenance requirements for aluminum gutters are not very sophisticated, they are very easy to maintain and do not require much attention. Guttercentre's Powder coated aluminum rainwater systems have proven to be very durable and low maintenance. This is one of the reasons why they are widely used in industrial and commercial applications.
Commonly used in high-rise buildings, office buildings, schools, churches and retail stores, they offer significant maintenance savings compared to other materials. However, as with aluminum framed windows and other painted surfaces, aluminum gutters should be cleaned regularly to keep the system looking fresh. In most cases, the rain will wash away light dirt deposits. To wash away contaminants or salt in saline environments, powder-coated polyester surfaces only require fresh water and a soft brush to restore their original appearance. Annually or twice in marine environments, we recommend cleaning the gutter system and checking the integrity of the joints. Any accumulated gutter debris should also be removed.
How to install Aluminium Gutters?
Following our thorough installation recommendations, installation can be completed by either a skilled tradesperson or a DIY enthusiast. Gutters can be customized by using a hack saw with an 18-toothed, 1-inch blade or a circular saw with an aluminum-cutting blade. Avoid using angle grinders since they will give the cut edges an unattractive burr.
Similar to PVCu gutters, our snap fit gutter systems clip together. After that, joint surfaces are coated with low modulus silicone sealant to ensure product lifetime.
Environmental credentials
Among others the accreditations of aluminum in terms of compatibility in environmental protection is a surprisingly good. The fact that aluminum is among the greenest metals on the market today is well-known. Over 125 years have passed since the widespread adoption of aluminum and today, 75% of that aluminum is still in use. Since it can be recycled and reused indefinitely without losing any of its original qualities, aluminum is a fundamental material that is completely sustainable. Because of this, scrap never belongs in a landfill and its value remains high. Furthermore, recycling aluminum only requires 5% of the initial energy needed to make new aluminum.
We offer you a variety from which you can choose the product you need or which you think suits you best. Everyone's quality is at the highest standards and will help you get the right installation.
