Is it necessary to install a gully at the bottom of a rainwater downpipe?

You have several choices: In residential settings where 68mm round and 65mm square downpipes are utilized, they typically discharge through a shoe into a gully's hopper. Alternatively, rainwater can flow into a back inlet gully via an adaptor and bend. Do Brett Martin Plastic Rainwater Systems have good fire performance?

Brett Martin Rainwater Systems can be utilized in a diverse range of applications; however, they are not currently officially fire tested or certified. This indicates that there are certain scenarios where they may not be appropriate, such as in buildings exceeding 18m in height. Those who choose, specify, or install these products should always be mindful of the applicable building regulations to ensure that the products are used in the right contexts.

What maintenance is suggested for Plastic Rainwater System?

The security of gutter and downpipe brackets should be routinely checked as part of the overall building maintenance program. Ensure that no components have become loose or dislodged, and that the gutter extrusions have not shifted beyond the thermal expansion allowance marks in the fittings. Rainwater gutter systems should be cleaned regularly, at least once a year, or more often in areas with significant wind-borne debris, such as sandy regions or near deciduous trees. The high gloss surface finish collects minimal dirt; however, if necessary, a mild detergent solution works well. Brett Martin Rainwater systems are self-colored, so painting is typically not needed for several years post-installation. If painting becomes necessary, here are some guidelines for painting the gloss finish rainwater systems, excluding the Cascade cast iron style range: All component surfaces should be lightly sanded and cleaned; do not apply an undercoat. An oil-based gloss paint is the best choice.

Do I need to account for expansion on plastic RW offsets?

No, expansion should only occur at the downpipe connections.

What is the required spacing for my plastic fascia brackets?

Fascia brackets should be installed at centers no greater than 900mm apart. For roofs with a pitch greater than 35° and/or those that experience heavy snow loads, support spacing should not exceed 600mm. If an angle is attached to the fascia board, a bracket should be placed no more than 150mm away.

Is it possible to connect the 110mm plastic downpipe system to a metal gutter?

Yes, you can do this by utilizing the Flat Gutter Outlet (BR499). This part is specifically made to fit inside an industrial metal gutter. After it's placed inside, you can attach the 110mm downpipe to it.
