Cast Aluminium Gutters & Downpipe Ranges
Cast Aluminium Heritage Range by Alumasc
The Heritage range by Alumasc blends timeless aesthetics with modern durability, making it the ideal choice for architects seeking a cost-effective and reliable solution for preserving the charm and character of traditionally designed buildings. This range is specifically crafted to meet planning requirements that call for the retention of a building’s heritage design. Whether for a new build or a renovation project, the Heritage range can serve as a direct replacement for cast iron gutter systems, offering the same classic appeal with the added benefits of lightweight and corrosion-resistant aluminium and a lifespan of 40 years.
Heritage Gutter & Downpipe Profiles Featuring traditional gutter profiles with spigot joints, the Heritage range ensures a secure and durable connection with wet-sealed and bolted fittings for a reliable installation. Architects and contractors can choose from a broad selection of gutter profiles, including half-round, beaded half-round, beaded deep run, Victorian ogee, and moulded gutter options, all available in a range of sizes to suit different architectural styles.
Complementing these profiles are circular, square, and rectangular downpipe profiles, designed to work seamlessly with the gutter system for a cohesive and functional rainwater solution.
The Heritage range offers a diverse colour selection to fit various design requirements, including 29 standard factory-applied colours and a variety of heritage-textured finishes. For projects that require specific colour matching, BS or RAL colours are available for special orders. Additionally, the system can be supplied with a cast iron-like surface texture in black for those who require a more traditional look or in a plain mill finish for on-site painting, allowing for further customisation to suit the specific needs of the building and project.

What type of build does Alumasc's aluminium Heritage gutters suit?
Heritage cast aluminum gutter & downpipes are typically installed on traditional grade 2 listing buildings, refurbishment or restoration of period properties.
How many colours are available in the Alumasc Heritage cast aluminium rainwater range?
We can offer plain mill finish or a range of BBA approved polyester powder coatings. The standard aluminium RAL range offers a choice of 26 colours, all with a 30% gloss finish unless otherwise stated. Bespoke colours are also available, but surcharges may apply.
What size lengths does the cast aluminium gutter come in?
Standard lengths are 1.83m long (6ft) with a cast socket at one end which replicates the cast iron appearance. Separate unions are only required to join the gutters together if the socket end has been cut off.
What are your bracket centres on Alumasc's cast aluminium Heritage gutters?
Please allow a minimum of two fascia brackets per gutter length (every 915mm), one extra at outlets, or change in direction (angles).
How many cast aluminium gutter profiles are available?
There are Five gutter profiles available - Half round, Beaded half round, beaded Deep run, Victorian Ogee & Moulded ogee.
Can I use a standard silicone to joint Alumasc's cast aluminium Heritage gutters?
No, that is not recommended due to the expansion and contraction of the product. We recommend that you use a low modulus sealant like Dow corning 791.
Can cast aluminium gutters be installed level?
When sizing the gutter we base this on a gutter being installed level. So in short yes you can as long as the system has been sized correctly using Alumasc's online calculator.
What lengths does the Alumasc's cast aluminium Heritage downpipes come in?
Standard socketed pipe lengths are 3m, 2m and 1m eared or uneared to look like traditional cast iron downpipes.
What are the cast aluminium downpipe bracket centres?
The British standard stipulates a downpipe fixing no more than 2m apart. For eared pipes at 2m and 1m no more additional clips are needed. For a 3m length a additional clip will be needed.
Why do I need backing foam for Alumasc's cast aluminium socketed downpipes?
The rainwater socket is oversized at the top to allow for expansion. The backing foam is used to centralize the adjoining pipe in place as per our standard installation instructions.
Do you supply a Leaf guard for cast aluminium guttering?
No we don’t, a leaf guard will actually reduce the flow of water into your gutter due to a build up of saturated leaf's sat on top of the system. This will increase weight on the system and will mean you will need a larger size gutter. As long as regular maintenance is adhered to the system should be self cleansing.
Our house is situated near a lot of trees, what maintenance program would you recommend for cast aluminium gutters?
You should clean the wash out the gutters every quarter to ensure optimal efficiency of the system, in areas where there are a lot of trees the maintenance period should be reduced to once every two months.
What should we do if you have to cut the cast aluminium gutters or downpipes, will it jeopardise the powder coating finish?
As long as you defile the cut, and then use touch up paint to paint the exposed ends before install then it wont effect the BBA guarantee.
How do I protect my cast aluminium guttering if I live near a Marine environment?
We would suggest you install the brackets using a stainless steel screw. We can also provide the product in a Marine grade finish (thicker coating of powder) at an extra cost.
How recyclable is Alumasc's cast aluminium guttering?
Yes all our cast aluminium products are 100% recyclable, making in a good choice for both your build and the environment.
