- Comprehensive Guarantee: Comes with a 15-year guarantee on coated products and an extended 5-year guarantee on the aluzinc range, ensuring complete system integrity.
- Cost-Effective Solution: Competitively priced, offering substantial savings compared to aluminium and cast iron while remaining economical against leading plastic systems.
Why Choose Steel Gutters?
When it comes to long-lasting, eco-conscious rainwater management, steel gutters stand out from the crowd. Steel rain gutters are significantly stronger than plastic or aluminium alternatives. This makes them ideal for withstanding the UK's unpredictable weather, including heavy rain, snow loads, and high winds, without warping, cracking, or sagging.
In addition, with a life expectancy of over 50 years, metal guttering systems deliver outstanding value over time. The galvanised steel core is resistant to rust and corrosion, especially when finished with Lindab's high-quality coatings.
From residential homes to commercial buildings and heritage sites, our steel guttering systems deliver unmatched durability, aesthetic appeal, and environmental credentials. With a trusted reputation and nationwide delivery, Gutter Centre is your go-to supplier for quality steel rainwater systems.

What type of build does this Lindab HR Rainline System lend itself to?
The wide choice of colours available in painted Rainline means it can suit classic or contemporary aesthetics for domestic or commercial properties.
How many colours are available in the Lindab HR Rainline System rainwater range?
Lindab Rainline is available in 10 painted colours- Silver Metallic, Anthracite Metallic, Anthracite Grey, Dark Grey, Black, Antique White, Brown, Coffee Brown, Tile Red and Dark Red.
What profile sizes and lengths does the Lindab HR gutter come in?
Lindab offer half round gutters in 100mm, 125mm, 150mm and 190mm widths in 3m lengths as standard but available in other lengths on request.
What are your recommended fascia and rafter bracket centres for indab Steel Gutters?
Lindab recommend 600mm spacing between gutter brackets.
Where do I need a union joint?
Gutter joints are required at all points where two gutters should be joined or where a gutter meets a gutter angle.
Do I need silicone to join the gutters and downpipes?
Lindab standard RSK gutter joints and RG self-locking stop ends have built-in EPDM rubber gaskets meaning sealant is not required. For RGV/ RGH stop ends used for 190mm gutters, sealant is recommended. It is not essential to use sealant during the fitting of the gutter outlet or between pipe fittings however a fitter may choose to use sealant.
Can Lindab Steel gutters be installed level?
Gutter brackets should be installed to create a fall of 10mm per 3m gutter in the direction of the gutter outlet.
What size diameter and lengths does the Lindab Steel Downpipe come in?
Lindab offer downpipes in 75mm, 87mm, 100mm and 120mm diameters in 3m lengths as standard but available in other lengths on request.
What are your downpipe bracket centre?
Lindab recommend 1.5m spacing between pipe brackets.
Do you supply a Leaf guard?

My house is situated near a lot of trees, what should maintenance programme be?
Painted building components should be regularly inspected to ensure the surface is clean and any damage to the surface coating is repaired. Refer to the Lindab Colour Coated Steel Maintenance Guide.
What product warranties do you offer on the Lindab HR Rainline System?
HBPD standard painted Rainline systems are supplied with up to a 15 year warranty. Refer to the Lindab Colour Coated Steel Warranty-
What should I do if I have to cut the gutter & Downpipes, will it jepordise the warranty?
Damage to the paint layer on sheet metal, regardless of whether it occurs during construction or afterwards, can mean that the sheeting is less well protected against corrosion. Damage such as scratches to the paint coating or a cut edge must be repaired using appropriate touch-up paint which is available from Lindab.
What do I do if I live near a Marine environment?
A reduced warranty period is provided for areas with a C4 corrosivity class. Lindab do not offer a warranty for this product if installed in a C5 environment.
Are these Lindab products recyclable?
Steel, including painted steel is 100% recyclable and is usually accepted at household recycling centers and scrap yards across the UK. Your chosen recycling centre may require that you remove rubber gaskets from relevant components.
How long do steel gutters last?
Steel gutters are extremely durable, with a typical lifespan of 30 to 50 years, depending on the finish and the level of maintenance. Powder-coated or painted steel gutters offer extra protection against corrosion and will maintain their appearance for decades.
Are steel gutters suitable for modern or traditional homes?
Yes. Steel gutters are versatile and stylish, making them suitable for both modern and traditional properties. Their clean lines suit contemporary architecture, while traditional profiles and painted finishes complement period homes.
How do I join steel gutters and downpipes together, and do I need to use silicone?
Steel gutters and downpipes are joined using mechanical brackets and fittings. For watertight joints, a low-modulus silicone sealant is recommended, especially at corners and outlets. This ensures a secure, leak-free system without affecting the metal's finish.
Do steel gutters suit both residential and commercial properties?
Absolutely. Steel gutters are strong and adaptable, making them ideal for residential homes, commercial buildings, and larger-scale projects alike. Their strength and longevity enable them to handle heavy rainfall and large roof areas with ease.
Are steel gutters sustainable?
Yes, steel is 100% recyclable at the end of its life and has a long service life, reducing the need for replacement. Choosing steel guttering is a sustainable option for environmentally conscious building projects.
What does it mean when someone refers to steel gutters being a dry-fit system?
A dry-fit system means the gutters and downpipes are mechanically assembled without the use of welding or adhesives, utilising brackets, nuts, and bolts to secure them in place. Silicone can be applied for extra waterproofing, but the system is designed to be secure and functional without it.
Do steel gutters need painting or coating?
Yes, painted or powder-coated steel gutters are highly recommended. A protective coating prevents rust and corrosion while maintaining the gutter's appearance. Galvanised steel provides some protection but is not suitable for long-term exposure in harsh environments.
What profiles do steel gutters and downpipes come in?
Steel guttering is available in several profiles, including:
Half-round – classic and elegant.
Ogee – decorative, ideal for period properties.
Box gutters – deep capacity for commercial or large roofs.
Matching downpipes and accessories are available in corresponding styles.
Can steel gutters be installed level?
No, steel gutters should be installed with a slight fall towards the downpipe (typically 1:600) to ensure efficient drainage and prevent standing water.
What maintenance do galvanised steel gutters need?
Galvanised steel gutters require minimal maintenance, such as clearing leaves and debris once or twice a year and checking for minor scratches or chips in the coating. Painted steel gutters benefit from occasional inspection and touch-ups if needed.
Can steel gutters be used in a marine environment?
Yes, but only painted or powder-coated steel gutters should be used in coastal areas. Galvanised steel is not recommended for marine environments, as salt air can cause corrosion over time.
Do the steel gutter manufacturers offer warranties on their products?
Yes, most manufacturers offer warranties of 10–15 years, depending on the finish. Following the manufacturer's recommended installation and maintenance practices is required to maintain the warranty's validity.
What is the lifespan vs the cost of steel guttering?
Steel gutters may have a higher initial cost than plastic, but they last much longer (30–50 years), require less maintenance, and are highly durable. Over time, steel guttering often proves to be more cost-effective due to its longevity and superior performance.
Do steel gutters come in colour options?
Yes, steel gutters are available in a wide range of powder-coated colours, allowing you to match your guttering to your roofline, windows, or property style. Popular colours include black, grey, and white, with bespoke options available on request.
How easy is it to install steel guttering, and can I install it myself?
Steel gutters are relatively straightforward to install and very similar to plastic gutter systems. We provide detailed installation guides and step-by-step videos to help DIYers or professional installers complete the job safely and efficiently.
