Pressed Aluminium Guttering
Pressed aluminium guttering, manufactured by Alumasc is a durable and cost-effective rainwater management system, ideal for both modern and traditional buildings. Manufactured from high-quality aluminium sheets that are precision-pressed into shape, pressed aluminium gutters offer excellent strength and resistance to corrosion. Unlike plastic alternatives, aluminium does not warp or crack over time, ensuring long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance.
Gutter Centre supplies the Alumasc GX range of Pressed Aluminium Guttering Systems - a robust, fully engineered box-section gutter system designed for traditional wet jointing on-site. Available in three profiles and multiple sizes, the GX Aluminium Guttering System is ideal for applications requiring high-capacity drainage, making it particularly suited for industrial and large-scale commercial projects.
Whether you need a robust system for a large-scale project or a stylish yet functional gutter for a smaller build, our high-performance pressed aluminium gutters deliver exceptional results.
GX Pressed Aluminium Gutter Systems
GX Joggle Gutters: The GX joggle box gutters come in five sizes and are accompanied by a full selection of fittings to meet various project needs. This range is designed with vertical sides, sharp-angled bends, and a returned lip for improved water management and durability. Additionally, the inclusion of a top strap enhances the system’s strength and rigidity, providing added stability and long-lasting performance.
GX Smooth Gutters: GX smooth box gutters offer a sleek, bracket-free design, eliminating the need for visible support brackets or screw fixings. These gutters feature a press-formed rectangular profile with an inclined front face, providing both aesthetic appeal and functionality. The system is supported by a one-piece top strap and a back strap, ensuring the gutters can handle increased weight loads with ease. Ideal for both modern and traditional buildings, they are versatile enough to complement a wide range of architectural styles, delivering both performance and visual sophistication.
GX Moulded Gutters: GX moulded gutters are expertly designed for traditional wet jointing on-site, offering a seamless, press-formed moulded profile that ensures a smooth and uniform finish. Available in three distinct profiles and a range of sizes, this versatile gutter system is perfect for applications where high-capacity rainwater drainage is essential.
Box Gutters: Box gutters are a durable and efficient solution for modern and traditional buildings, offering exceptional strength and performance for both residential and commercial applications. Joggle box gutters provide an unobtrusive solution to rainwater management, making them a popular choice for projects where aesthetics and functionality are equally important.
Versatile Applications
The GX Pressed Aluminium Guttering System is designed to offer a high-capacity drainage solution for both traditional and modern buildings. It is fully compatible with Alumasc’s Skyline fascia/soffit system, allowing you to create a complete all-aluminium eaves/soffit solution. Whether you prefer exposed or concealed gutters, the GX system adapts easily to your design preferences.
Features & Performance
The GX system is available in three gutter profiles and comes in 3-metre lengths with a variety of sizes to meet the needs of different projects. It is designed to accommodate thermal movement at every joint, ensuring reliable performance throughout its lifespan. The system has an impressive life expectancy of 40 years in rural and suburban areas and up to 25 years in industrial or marine environments. With a focus on low maintenance and long-lasting durability, it is also BBA-approved and made from 100% recyclable aluminium, making it an eco-friendly choice.
Colours & Finishes
The GX Pressed Aluminium Guttering System offers a range of finish options to suit your aesthetic requirements. BBA-approved polyester powder coatings are factory-applied at Alumasc, and you can choose from 26 standard colours. If you need a custom look, additional BS or RAL colours are available on special order. The system is also available in plain mill finish, which can be painted on-site to match your specific colour scheme.
Manufacturing & Quality
Manufactured in the UK, the GX system is made from high-quality sheet aluminium pressed into gutter lengths, fittings, and unions that meet stringent standards such as BS EN 1462:1997, BS EN 612:1996, BS EN 515:1993, BS EN 573:1995, and BS EN 485. This ensures that every component of the system is built to last and performs at the highest level.
Installation & Fixing
The installation process is simple and effective, with wet-sealed and bolted joints providing a secure, long-lasting connection. The system uses simple screw fixing with bracketry, which is generally concealed after fixing for a clean look. The GX Joggle is supported by top straps, while the GX Smooth design offers easy jointing with no requirement for sole support brackets or visible screw fixing. The GX Moulded profile is wet-jointed and fixed directly to the building fabric, ensuring a seamless and streamlined appearance.
Low Maintenance
One of the key advantages of the GX Pressed Aluminium Guttering System is its minimal maintenance requirements. With its high-quality construction and durable finishes, it provides a hassle-free, long-term solution for your rainwater management needs. What type of build does Alumasc's GX pressed aluminium gutters suit?
GX Aluminium pressed gutters are high capacity box section gutter for modern, contemporary and new build projects.
How many colours are available in the Alumasc aluminium GX pressed rainwater range?
We can offer plain mill finish or a range of BBA approved polyester powder coatings. The standard aluminium RAL range offers a choice of 26 colours, all with a 30% gloss finish unless otherwise stated. Bespoke colours are also available, but surcharges may apply.
What size lengths does the gutter come in?
Standard lengths are 3m, and come complete with a bonded union and three top straps.
What are your bracket centres on GX pressed aluminium gutters?
We allow three brackets per gutter length (1no. every 1m), one extra at outlets, or change in direction (angles).
What profiles do you have available for the Alumasc GX Gutter range?
We offer three gutter profiles Joggle, Smooth and Moulded, in various profile sizes.
Can I use a standard silicone to joint Alumasc's GX Pressed Aluminium gutters?
No, that is not recommended due to the expansion and contraction of the product. We recommend that you use a low modulus sealant like Dow corning 791.
Can the Alumasc GX Pressed Aluminium gutters be installed level?
When sizing the gutter we base this on a gutter being installed level. So in short yes you can as long as the system has been sized correctly using Alumasc's online calculator.
What style of Alumasc aluminium downpipe can be used?
All our aluminium downpipe ranges are compatible with this system to give you the appearance you require - Heritage, Flushjoint, Swaged, Guardian.
Do you supply a Leaf guard for Alumasc's aluminium guttering range?
No we don’t, a leaf guard will actually reduce the flow of water into your gutter due to a build up of saturated leaf's sat on top of the system. This will increase weight on the system and will mean you will need a buggier size gutter. As long as regular maintenance is adhered to the system should be self cleansing.
Our house is situated near a lot of trees, what maintenance programme would you recommend?
You should clean the wash out the gutters every quarter to ensure optimal efficiency of the system, in areas where there are a lot of trees the maintenance period should be reduced to once every two months.
What should we do if you have to cut the GX pressed aluminium gutters or downpipes, will it jeopardise the powder coating finish?
As long as you defile the cut, and then use touch up paint to paint the exposed ends before install then it wont effect the BBA guarantee.
What do I do if I live near a Marine environment?
We would suggest you install the brackets using a stainless steel screw. We can also provide the product in a Marine grade finish (thicker coating of powder) at an extra cost.
How recyclable is the Alumasc GX Pressed aluminium guttering range?
Yes all aluminium products are 100% recyclable, making in a good choice for both your build and the environment.
